Good Housekeeping Employee Training:
Every year the Stormwater Management Department is mandated through our Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to host an annual training for applicable department heads and municipal employees regarding pollution prevention and municipal good housekeeping. We offer this training virtually and in-person and you can complete it virtually by following the steps as seen above. Our new permit requires that new full-time employees have to complete this training within 60 days of being hired. Part-time and seasonal employees need to complete the training within 30 days of being hired. This training is for municipal employees with the City of East Chicago.
We rely on your cooperation with our stormwater program to ensure that we are achieving compliance with all permit requirements. Spill prevention and good housekeeping protect our waterways and water quality. Thank you for your participation and assistance! If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the Stormwater team listed below.
