Library Card Sign-up Month

(East ChicagoIN – August 26, 2008) September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and the East Chicago Public Library wants to make sure that your child has the smartest card of all—a library card. Children who read at home and use the library usually perform better in school and are more likely to continue to use the library as a source of lifetime learning. Children can use the library to get help with homework, check out books, music and use the computers. Some of the programs and activities at the East Chicago Public Library include: Youth Services (Toddler Time, Preschool Story Hour, Guest Speakers, Movie, Game, Craft and Read Out Loud Days) Family Library Cinema, Night @ the Movies, Class Visits, Cultural Programs, Family Reading Night, East Chicago Reads, Poetry Slam, “Christmas around the World” and many other programs.
