EAST CHICAGO HOLIDAY PARADE OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED
(East Chicago, IN)-Mayor George Pabey and the School City of East Chicago will celebrate their 4th Annual Holiday Parade on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at noon.
“This is a great parade for the children,” said Fran Nowacki, Holiday Parade committee chair. “The business community has been gracious enough to purchase floats that feature schools, students, youth organizations and seniors on them.”
Following the parade, festivities such as pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, games, treats, etc., and will close with a Christmas Program and a special Lighting of the Trees Ceremony to be held at Washington Park.
“Times have been tough during these economically challenging days,” said Mayor Pabey. “The spirit of Christmas will bring a lot of smiles to our community this year and we will make sure our children and our seniors are filled with that holiday cheer."
This year’s parade route will travel from Grand Boulevard to Broadway, then onto Main Street to Columbus Drive and finish on Parrish Avenue to Washington Park. For more information, contact Fran Nowacki at 219-391-8200.
