EAST CHICAGO CENTRAL SERVICE & STREET DEPARTMENT
The East Chicago General Service Street Department provides many services to the City of East Chicago including:
Debris pick up; repairing of streets; potholes, alley street sweeping; snow plowing and salting of the streets, alleys and parking lots; grass cutting for senior citizens and empty lots; replacing of street signs; striping of streets; marking boundary lines; curbside painting; maintenance of municipal buildings; and special authorized projects requested by other departments.
To residents:
Please inform the secretary of your first and last name, address, phone number and the type of service needed. If the E.C. Street Department is unable to help, they will redirect the call appropriately. If you notice anyone dumping debris anywhere within the city limits, please notify the East Chicago Police Department.
We ask our residents to help keep our city clean.

Central Communications calls to advise of hazardous road/driving conditions.

3. Snow Plow Callout list will then be activated. Employees must report to base within 45 minutes of callout.
