I LOVE My City Art Contest!
The City of East Chicago. A City of Hope and Progress. A city where even the smallest of children can dream big and achieve greatness, where a child can be the best of scholars, an amazing artist or most valuable player.
“When I think of my love for the City of East Chicago, I think of its people and their future, especially the children. I think of the hope given back to the people and the progress made to its structures, it’s streets, and it’s neighborhoods. East Chicago is a place you can always call home, no matter how young or old you may be ” stated Mayor Antony Copeland.
It’s not just the industrial mecca of Indiana. It is a place where everyone knows your name. A city where everyone is your family. It’s a melting pot of cultures and beliefs. A city where everyone’s voice is important. A city where the pride in its well-being is as strong as the steel we produce and the love for it goes as deep as Lake Michigan.
With all this in mind, the first step to expressing the heartfelt love and pride we have for the City of East Chicago, is through art. Whether it’s a painting, ink drawing or a digital masterpiece, it’s a step in the right direction to showing this great city how much you love it. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words. Best of luck to all of our participants.
Let’s show East Chicago some love!
