APPLICANT MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 21 years of age.

• A US citizen and a resident of Lake County, Indiana for one year willing to relocate to East Chicago

• High school graduate or GED equivalent

• Corrected vision: binocular vision no worse than 20/30. Uncorrected vision: binocular vision no worse than 20/100. Color vision: must have ability to identify red, green and yellow.

• Possess a valid Indiana driver’s license.

• Be of good reputation and character.

• Shall not have been convicted of a felony.     

Any interested person meeting the minimum requirements may apply at the East Chicago Police Department, 2301 E. Columbus Dr. between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
