East Chicago’s parks provide more than 30,000 East Chicagoans with an attractive and safe environment. They are places of beauty and tranquility, where individuals and families have the opportunity to absorb some of nature's benefits; they are places to listen to bands, gather for celebrations and to participate in volleyball, baseball, soccer, and golf; and they are places for children and families to play in the sand, swim in the pool or beautiful Lake Michigan, or run and/or walk around a track.
From our city neighborhoods to our beautiful lakefront, East Chicago parks offer natives and tourists the chance to explore a fun atmosphere, relax in nature or try something new. The local park scene boasts new playground equipment, family fun, wonderful greenspace, safe havens, volleyball, basketball, baseball, golf and our ever so popular water parks. There's something for everyone: outdoor or indoor, on water or land.
Mayor Pabey and the East Chicago Park Department are dedicated to maintaining and improving these valuable resources and safe havens throughout our wonderful neighborhoods.
The East Chicago Park & Recreation Team’s goal is to provide the
highest quality recreational programs aimed to educate, challenge, and safeguard our citizens. Come visit one of our many beautiful parks today!
