In an effort to communicate and promote positive events in and around our city, Mayor George Pabey has continued the efforts started
in 1998, E.C.TV News is a government fbased television show that highlights news
and events within the city of East Chicago. E.C.TV News is produced by the high school and college
interns of the Multimedia Division and supervised by the
department’s staff. The interns
are responsible for every aspect of the production of the television show from
writing script to camera operation, anchoring, editing and airing the final
product. Each
week, information is given on upcoming events throughout the city and past
events are highlighted through video segments. On occasion, more in depth interviews are conducted. Notable past interviews include, New York Yankee Centerfielder Bernie Williams, Comedian
Nick Gaza, and former Globe Trotter Hallie Bryant. E.C.TV News has also been on site to capture special visits
from Rev. Jesse Jackson, Kenny Lofton. Recently the show has been given a new name "Access East Chicago" . The new title of the show mirrors past newsletters in order create a uniform feel to information access. E.C.TV
News airs daily on Public Access Cable Channel 21. Viewers are encouraged to contact the Multimedia Division at 391-8206 with any information regarding
