Get HIP and Get Healthy

A Health Plan sponsored by the State of Indiana

The Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) is a new, affordable health insurance program for uninsured adult Hoosiers. The program is sponsored by the State and only requires minimal monthly contributions from the participant. It is designed to fill the gap for working Hoosiers ages 18 – 64 that are not offered health insurance through an employer and find private insurance unaffordable. HIP is financed by the 44 cent cigarette tax increase recently passed by Indiana lawmakers; in combination with potential Federal Medicaid funds and individual contributions. Two plan carriers have been approved by the state of Indiana: Anthem and MDWise with AmeriChoice. For information about HIP visit www.HIP.IN.gov or call 1 (877) GET-HIP 9.

St. Catherine Hospital’s Community Outreach department is currently doing presentations for the public to answer questions about HIP. For an upcoming presentation, call 219-392-7135.
