Pursuant to East Chicago Municipal Code Title 5, Chapter 5.10, it is unlawful for any person to engage in the business of a building contractor in the City without having a license. Please note that all contractors’ licenses expire on December 31st of each year.
It is required that every
contractor licensed or in the process of becoming licensed, with the City of
East Chicago maintain a current codebook for reference relative to his or her
trade and may be required to show proof of same.
