Come on out for an evening of free Blues music Featuring Mike & Company at the East Chicago Marina Saturday, June 17th 2006. The East Chicago Marina is located across the Harbor from Resorts Casino and hotel. The New East Chicago Lakefront Café has a variety of menu items and a full bar. The Marina is host to a numerous amount of events year round.

In July, be sure to attend the wonderful Independence Day Celebration on Monday, July 3rd from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The featured music group is Latin Satin Soul. Also, on Saturday, July 22nd, the East Chicago Marina will host the all day long Poker Run featuring beautiful cigar boats racing along the Lake Michigan shoreline. The Labor Day Celebration on Sunday, September 3rd will feature Monterrey.

Under way now: Beach reconstruction Project.
The city recently began phase 2 of the beach reconstruction project. The area was cleaned of large boulders, rocks and debris and leveled out smoothly. There are plans to bring in beautiful fine sand and the installation of several powered picnic shelters.
