African American Heritage Film Festival    
           
(East Chicago, IN—January 25, 2008) The East Chicago Public Library presents a Film Festival for the month of February celebrating Black History Month.

The following movies will be featured at the Main Library located at

2401 East Columbus Drive:
 

February 5- Dream Girls
February 12-Drum Line
February 20-Coach Carter
February 27-Stomp the Yard

The movies will be shown at 5:00 PM.  There is no charge for admission plus free

refreshments and popcorn.    This program is in partnership with the City of East Chicago and the Foundations of East Chicago.

Motown Revue Talent Show Auditions

Our “talent scouts” are looking for youngsters, ages 9 to 18, to be a part of the East Chicago Public Library’s “Motown Revue.”  Acts can be up to 3 minutes in length.  Auditions will begin January 28 and will be held at each of the nine participating locations.  Library staff will determine who will participate in the February 28 show.

The East Chicago Public Library cordially invites you to attend the ”Motown Revue” in celebration of African American History Month.  The program will be held on Thursday, February 28 at 5:00 p.m. at the Main Library.  Refreshments will be served.
